Victory Leisure Homes - New Factory

Victory Leisure Homes is moving to a new factory in Gilberdyke, on the west side of Hull, to accommodate future expansion plans.

We have been searching for an alternative to our Stoneferry base for some time and had even considered purpose-built premises before the Britspace site came on the market (modular buildings firm Britspace, went into administration last year).

The Rix group has now completed a deal to buy the factory and land from the administrators for an undisclosed sum, and work to move plant and machinery to the new premises has got underway.

Peter Nevitt, managing director of Victory Leisure Homes, said the factory at 8000sqm is bigger than our present home, better laid out, more energy efficient and has better access to the motorway network.

He said: “This move is about safeguarding the future of the business. We have been working at full capacity in our present factory for some time and have been looking to find somewhere new as we could not satisfy demand, particularly for caravan holiday homes in the UK. Now we will be able to expand both our caravan holiday home and lodge-making operation, continue the progress we have made and exploit all the opportunities both in the UK and throughout Europe.”

The company is looking to start full scale production at the site from April 1st, 2012, three years to the day after it was initially set up on April 1st, 2009.

Rory Clarke, director of J.R. Rix and Sons, said we could not have found a better home for Victory even if we had one specially constructed.

“Victory Leisure Homes is a real success story,” he said.

“It was founded during the worst chapter in the caravan industry’s history but thanks to excellent leadership from Peter and his team it has achieved the steady growth to become a recognised and trusted brand in this country and abroad.

“This move represents the evolution of the company and one that I am confident will lead to further, long lasting success.”

Sant Jordi (Maestrat Park) has sent us the 2011 rental details and we include them below. The Half Price rent for life offer is still available for the next 5 homes on the park, and even past that a decent rental agreement is in place for the foreseeable future.

Jet2.com unveil new UK & Spain flights for 2011

Jet2.com have recently announced that they are starting seven new routes to and from Spain this year, including a new route from Edinburgh - Malaga, opening up the best dedicated residential mobile home park in Spain (La Posada) to the north of the United Kingdom. This service begins on April 2nd and was originally planned to be a twice weekly service but because of high demand for flights to Malaga, a third service will begin over the summer between the months of May 23rd and October 24th 2011.

In Alicante, Jet2 are expanding three new routes to East Midlands, Newcastle and Glasgow which add to the already impressive list including Leeds, Manchester and Blackpool. The options for travelling to and from your mobile home in Spain has never had so many choices! In addition to this, because the flights to Alicante have also increased, the airline will be in charge of it's own luggage by the end of March increasing the number of jobs available at Al Altet in Alicante.

In short, the total number of routes between Spain and the UK operated soley by Jet2.com will rise to 49 and the number of seats available will rise by 25% giving you and your family 450,000 seats to play with!

Unfortunately we do not know of any manufacturer that makes a mobile home in Spain that big!!

New Bowling Green Open at La Posada, Spain

La Posada has officially opened it's Bowling Green and we have the new photographs. The green, which cost the park €50,000 is officially recognised as regulation league size, so the mobile home park residents have formed their own team which will compete in local league games. This is a fantastic addition to a mobile home residential park that already stands head and shoulders above!

Enjoy a healthy pastime, for all ages! Conveniently located within the village of Alameda, La Posada has 4 rinks, all weather bowling green offers recreation facilities built by English experts, Dales Sports. Rinks can be booked in advance, training for beginners is available. Membership fees are for various terms to suit all budgets.

About Lawn Bowls

Lawn Bowls is usually played straight up and down a lawn. In "Singles", each player has four bowls called "woods" (although these days, 90% of bowls are made from a resin material) which are rolled alternately at a target ball called a Jack or Kitty. Other games are "Pairs" - four players in two teams, each player having four bowls, "Triples" - three players with three bowls each and "Rinks" or "Fours" - four players two bowls each. Each bowl is less rounded on one side which results in the bowl being "biased" in one direction due to the extra weight on one side. The bias of a correctly rolled bowl ensures that it follows a slightly curved path as it rolls which accentuates as the bowl comes to a halt. The Jack is a smaller white ball without a bias. Thursday afternoon, 25th November 2010 and the snow fell in our region heavier than predicted. As you might have guessed, the roads became Strictly on Ice, houses were turned into snowball targets and even though the owner of Carefree Lifestyle spent 10 minutes wheel spinning his car into his parking spot, we are all at work watching the flakes descend and all feeling wintery and glum.

Then a phonecall from a client over at La Posada to find out how we are coping with the snow sealed it. We asked them, "How is the weather there?" and they replied "It's lovely and sunny over here, bit cloudy but only in patches."

Better Fuel Prices in Spain

Due to the popularity of the Cambrian models, the Millbrook show home that was to be the centre piece for Cambrian at the Newbury Park and Holiday Homes Show has just been sold to a customer that requested immediate delivery.

Due to the increased demand for the Cambrian Millbrook following the past two park home shows, Cambrian have been unable to allocate a production slot for another demonstration model in time for the show, which consequently means that Cambrian and Carefree Lifestyle are regrettably unable to attend the Newbury Park and Holiday Homes Show.

We all send our apologies and Cambrian will be making sure that they have another Millbrook show home available for the World of Park & Leisure Homes Show at Stoneleigh in June.

Good Old Cruise Liners!

It was nice to see on GMTV this morning, 2000 Brits being saved by a cruise liner, bringing them back to Blighty from Bilbao.

It does make me consider two things though:

1. I wonder how many presentations they will have to sit through on the wonders of a Cruise Holiday.

2. If they only knew a family member or friend with a mobile home in Spain, it would have eased the trouble considerably!

Now comes the fun part of trying to get recompense even when Ryanair and BMI have stated they will not offer customers the costs of accommodation and extra travel even when it is in direct violation of the European Law!

This will rage on for many months to come!

The One Day Visit

Enjoy a One Day Visit To La Posada, Spain

The service works like this. You can book a holiday in the normal way as if you were only going on holiday in Spain. The length of holiday is not important but it has to be with hotel pick ups from Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Nerja due to logistics in planning your visit to the parks and area. After either booking or planning the holiday you can then contact us with the date you have in mind to enjoy the One Day Visit. You can either phone our office (01642 712711) or book via the website from our contact page. There will be a small charge but it does allow for up to 4 people. For people seriously thinking of the possiblilty of moving to Spain and living in a mobile home this is a great way of "doing the homework" as it is only a one day fact finding tour. An enjoyable day out.

The second point with this service is that you can book your One Day Visit well in advance (the sooner the better to secure the date you would like) and the service runs from the beginning of September to the end of June. In July & August the resorts are so busy it is almost impossible to get in and park as well as members of the team being on holiday themselves.

National Park & Holiday Homes Show 2010

APRIL 21st UPDATE

Due to the grounding of many flights to and from the UK, we regret to inform our clients that John Robinson will not be able to attend the National Park & Holiday Homes Show this Friday.

He is currently in Italy working with hisFamily Camping Holiday company, Bolero Holidays and was due to fly back to the UK on Tuesday past to ready himself for the show. His flight was cancelled and he apologises for the inconvenience this may cause.

Although, bad pun aside, every could has a silver lining, thanks to technology, John Robinson will be available via phone on the Cambrian Stand at the show, able to take calls to discuss more about your mobile home requirements.

If you would like to talk to John, just speak with a representative on the Cambrian stand and they will happily get in touch with him. He wishes he could be there physically, but hopes that being available through the medium of voice, it will help to give you the confidence when finding out more about the luxury Cambrian homes and Carefree Lifestyle's involvement in Europe.

Steps to buying a NEW Mobile Home in Spain

The process of buying a mobile home can be split into 10 steps.

1. Identify the correct park and location through various mediums including photos, literature and a necessary inspection visit to get a first hand experience of being in that environment.

2. During the inspection visit, choosing the plot is the next logical step, making sure the size, angle, position and even the direction of the sun from morning to night is in the right place. Once chosen, a deposit of 500 Euros is then required to reserve the plot in your name.

3. Upon returning to the UK, you would identify the mobile home(s) you are considering from the brochures you have been given.

4. Carefree Lifestyle would then spend time with you covering all the factors necessary including the pro’s and con’s on certain models with regards to floor plans, storage facilities etc. to allow you to make an informed decision.

5. It is essential to view the various models to enable you to thoroughly explore the mobile home and arrive at the right decision. This can be done independently at a local UK dealer or by appointment with Carefree Lifestyle at tradeshows, exhibitions or at the manufacturer directly.

6. We now re‐confirm everything with you to make sure that every aspect is feasible as discussed in steps 2, 3 and 4.

7. We then create the purchase order for the mobile home and you will be asked to read it thoroughly, ask any questions you need to and when you are happy, you will sign and confirm the mobile home is to be put into production. You will then be required to pay a 10% deposit at the time of placing the order which will be followed up by a further 15% 4 weeks later and the final sum is paid 2 weeks before the mobile is due to leave the factory.

8. During the purchase order stage, the park owner is contacted and work begins on your plot to ensure that everything will be ready for the agreed arrival date of the home.

9. Developments at Mollina
On the 5th April we endured temperatures of 26 degrees in the shade (it's a hard life sometimes!) and paid a quick visit to Saydo Park at Mollina as we happened to be in the area. The good news is that the whole bar, restaurant and hotel are being refurbished and the bar and restaurant re-quipped. Walls have been removed, floor tiles scrubbed and a light cream paint applied, giving the area a bright, open feel whilst retaining the traditional Spanish wall tiling. The kitchen area will be semi-open and the huge wood-fired, stone-floored bread oven revealed to customers. The restaurant will be serving a mix of English and traditional Spanish dishes when it re-opens. The inner courtyard of the hotel is also being given a new lease of life, providing a beautiful atmosphere for dining or relaxing with a refreshing drink. The pools have been drained for a thorough cleaning and the indoor pool walls repainted. The work on the hotel is scheduled for completion at the end of April 2008.
